Natural Disasters

Many believe that 2012 is the end of the world, which is said to be the end date of a 5, 125-year-long cycle as there is many symptom of disasters has been happening around the world.
Somehow I get this feeling that as 2012 is coming, we will be facing with more disasters this year in 2010.
We had earthquake in Haiti in January 2010 that has basically destroyed the homes of millions.
In February, we have earthquake again in Chile that is devastating to the residents in Chile. More than 300 died.
As a result of the earthquake in Chile, there is tsunami coming to many parts of the world but scientific shows that it won't be as serious as feared.
Then we hear news of icebergs breaking from the Antarctic continent.
Last but not least we hear a huge storms affecting Europe, leaving many homes in a poorer state.
All these events happened in just 2 months of 2010. We witnessed more natural disasters around the world that has killed thousands of lives, and exposed many others to the brutal cold weather. The lack of food and water, coupled with possibility of diseases may cause further harm to these homeless.
At the other side of the globe there is the eruption of the volcanic ashes in Iceland. This resulted in many travelers stranded in airports around the world. News reported that this is the biggest air travel shutdown with 16,000 flights affected. That is a little comfort to those suffering inconveniences from the airport breakdown.
Is it true that 2012 will be strike with a big natural disaster? I hope that everyone in this world would play a part by giving a helping hand to those who needs them and to saves the world by doing something that can reduce or prevent the risk of lives in the upcoming disaster.
